Social Network Analysis (SNA) is a hot term, predominantly due to sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, but what is it and how can it be used? SNA is a type of analysis which determines interrelations between individuals and groups. These analyses are used to:
- Determine ‘influencers’ or those individuals who show the greatest influence on the network
- Determine ‘connectors’ or those individuals who, if they left the network, could have the greatest negative impact
- Determine subgroups that have the greatest influence on the overall network
- Score individuals in the network with several SNA measures including an Influencer score
SNA, if applied correctly, can drive incremental revenue. Determining and retaining your influencers is critical to long term success.
